I’m ready to take my marketing career truly international with a move to the United States. I have been working in PR, Marketing and Digital Media for nearly 10 years now, working with top global blue chip companies on national and pan-European campaigns & initiatives. For the last 5 years I’ve been freelancing in London, England.
My highest qualification is a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering however I’m prepared to undertake further studies to increase my chances of employment. I’m prepared to work anywhere in the US.
I need some advice with:
- professional marketing resources – websites, associations, journals
- best marketing jobsites and boards
- best networking groups or clubs for marketers
- best way of getting visa sponsorship for a job
- any other top hints or tips
Please send only serious responses – thanks!
I’m from the UK and based in London.

resources: American marketing association http://www.marketingpower.com/ ; subscribe for newsletters or feeds in advertising adage.com is a good one
for the visa part, get incorporated and work on your own behalf again as a freelancer, project contractor, consultant or whatever name you wish giving yourself.
For available positions, I found a couple of sites:

I know you’re in the UK, but the American Marketing Association offers tons of good advice for those in marketing positions. Many of their tips are universal, regardless of location.

Good luck!
