This program provides lessons learned from transportation industry applications of social networking tools across the country. Hosted by Brian Kennedy. Discussion leaders are RTD’s Pauletta Tonilas (Denver), Jim Allison with BART (San Francisco), and LA METRO’s Jody Litvak. Thanks to the Federal Transit Administration for its support in making this program possible. Program produced, videotaped and edited by Frank Hogan.

Hi letsbe7

I have just been watching your video and I must admit it really is very good.

I really enjoyed watching it.

Already looking forward to more of the same in the future.

Cheers to your success.

Social media outlets are a great way to communicate to customers and the general public. The challenge is to keep it fresh, light and creative.

Unfortunately, FTA is not aware of any revenue streams available for properties to implement social media.

As Jim points out in the video, reallocation of funding from existing budgets is a great source.

Another source of reallocated funding is inefficient use of labor at public open houses when paid attendees almost outnumber citizen attendees.

Public meetings will always be part of our processes, but more efficient and balanced expenditures are often possible.

Since the FTA funded this video, are there specific or dedicated funding streams or mechamisms (grants) for properties to implement social media?
